Net Rentable Area (NRA)

Net Rentable Area (NRA) is the actual square footage of a building that may be leased or rented to tenants. It is calculated by subtracting the square footage of all common areas from the gross building area. Common areas include hallways, lobbies, restrooms, stairwells, elevators, mechanical rooms, and other areas that are not directly used by tenants.
